In Eastern meditation, one is to empty the mind in order to allow whatever spiritual influences in that might be seeking entrance. Biblical meditation is very differrent from this in that it is meant to fill one's mind with the Word of God thereby guarding the mind from those ungodly spiritual influences. The goal of Biblical meditation is an internal transformation through the renewing of one's mind.

Romans 12:1-2
(1) I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship.
(2) Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.

We are to replace our thoughts with God's thoughts, our patterns with God's patterns, and our prioroties with God's priorities. We are able to achieve this by taking portions of God's Word and thinking about them day and night, to dwell on them, reflect upon them, contemplate them, ask questions about them, and making them the focal point of our thought life. By doing this, our thoughts, actions, decisions, and motivations, will be influenced by God's Word in a progressively greater degree.

This section contains devotional style meditations on various portions of scripture. These reflections on God's Word are my own thoughts written in a tone which can be used for personal devotions and meditation. I strive for strict doctrinal soundness in everything I present; however, these meditations were not written with study in mind, but with the hope of being used to draw individuals into a closer relationship with God.
